On November 25, 1998 the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control granted management of public, educational and government access television for cable franchise Area 2 to Sound View Community Media (SVCM). Area 2 includes the communities of Bridgeport, Fairfield, Milford, Orange, Stratford and Woodbridge.
SVCM is responsible for providing facilities, equipment, training and related services to Area 2 access users, who wish to create their own television shows. SVCM is within walking distance to the Bridgeport Public Library, Housatonic Community College, Playhouse on the Green, Barnum Museum, People's Bank Center and the Bridgeport City Hall Annex.

Business Hours: Monday thru Friday, 9 AM to 5PM
Studio and Edit Suites: By Reservation: Monday thru Friday, 9AM to 10 PM, Saturdays by appointment
Closed Sundays and Holidays
Cablecast Schedule: 24 hours/ 7 days, including weekends and holidays
Security personnel are stationed at the main lobby desk on the first floor Monday through Friday from 7AM to 7PM. All persons entering the 211 States Street must sign in and sign out at the security desk.

Sound View occupies about 6,000 square feet of space consisting of:- Reception Area
- Digital Edit Suites
- Small Studio
- Head End Cable Casting: All programs are broadcasted from this room through a
computer automated system - 350 Square Foot Control Room
- 630 Square Foot Main Studio
- Prop Storage Room
- Field Equipment (Cameras, Tripods & Light Kits)
- Green Room/Multi-Purpose Room with production & training capabilities
- Make-up/Dressing Room
- Hallway art gallery available to local artists to display their talents
- Rooms are wired for production capabilities
- Restrooms, including handicap lavatory
- Two 100 foot Satellite dishes located on the roof
- Loading Zone parking spaces for equipment pick up/drop off
- Handicap parking
- Pantry with sink, refrigerator,microwave, & coffee maker.
